When you think about ‘Content Marketing’ what comes to mind? If you’re like most people, you’re probably thinking of there is only one type of content...the written kind; blogs, articles, ebooks. And that tends to be what most coaches and consultants focus on when they’re creating their content. But the truth is that if you want to make the most of your content marketing endeavours, you’re going to have to explore other types of content as well. This will help you cast a wider net over your target audience. So, here are top content types you can implement in your content marketing strategy

1. Blog posts

Blog posts are an essential component of a successful content marketing strategy. When you blog consistently, you establish your brand as an authority. It’s also a great way to keep people on your site; as they start to look at your blog content, they’ll see your other posts that can provide more information on that topic.

2. Case studies

People love case studies. If you’re selling a product or a service, you can do a case study on how your product was able to help people.

3. Videos

Some people dislike reading and would prefer watching videos. You can choose your most popular content and repurpose it into video format. This will make it easy for you to reach those segments in your audience who prefer to consume content in video form.

4. Infographics

Infographics make it easy for people to see your content’s main points in just a few seconds. They don’t have to read thousands of words, they can just scan your infographic, and they’ll know what you’re talking about. If you’re reading this and thinking “that’s not likely because I’m no designer”, Canva has got you sorted. Just search ‘Infographic’ in the search bar and ‘viola’ infographic templates galore. **

5. Checklists

Checklists are especially useful for highly actionable content. It gives people a framework of what they need to do. You can also use them as content upgrades on your blog posts to get people to join your mailing list.

6. Social media posts

You can repurpose your content into graphics that will make it easy for your audience to share your content on social media.

7. Presentations

With presentations, you can simply copy and paste the most important points in your content into a visually attractive PowerPoint template. Then upload the entire presentation to sites like SlideShare.

8. Quizzes

Quizzes are fantastic content marketing strategies and are so hot right now. And it’s not surprising either...they are great for lead generation and because they are interactive, people are able to really engage with your content. You can also use quizzes to segment your leads based on their responses to your quiz questions and provide them with more content based on those results.

9. Online courses

Online courses! One of my favourite content marketing strategies and my zone of genius. There are so many benefits of using online courses in your content creation strategy; all the content you want to share on a subject is in one location, easy to consume for your students, building your credibility and creating passive income for you. It’s an absolute win/win (win, win, win) situation.

10. Memes

Memes are popular on social media. You can ride on the hottest topics of the day, post it on social media and if it catches your audience’s fancy, then your meme may even go viral!

Of course, there are many more types of content that you can introduce into your content creation and marketing strategy, but if you start to introduce some of these 10 types, you’ll start to see an increase in your reach and your engagement.

Let me know what your favourite content marketing strategy is; particularly if it’s one that I haven’t included in this list!

Have fun with your content creation!
